Exclusive "Space Prostitute Set" from Geek Chic Cosmetics!

Good afternoon Zombies!

I'm pretty excited about today's post! A little while back Jeanine (better known as Hottie McNaughty) started her very own website called The Rhinestone Housewife which offers a variety of hand made cosmetics and bath and body goodies! I was lucky enough to be asked to review the "Space Prostitute Set" which was created by Geek Chic Cosmetics exclusively for The Rhinestone Housewife!

Are you ready to see the awesome? Me too! (Make sure you click each image for maximum awesome!)

The pretty Rhinestone Housewife card!

The jars are standard 5 gram jars which hold about 1 gram of product. Each jar was shrink wrapped and had a sticker over the sifter holes. I really like the care in detail on the jars- right down to the cool fonts and designs.

The standout! Meteor Madame lip gloss is hot. It's a beautiful and shiny rose colored gloss. I adore it.

Swatches of the entire set.

Descriptions per the website:

Cosmic Cathouse: described as a blackened antique gold with silver sparkles
Pangalactic Painted Lady: described as the perfect robin's egg blue with a lush satin sheen
This is the perfect robin's egg blue with a lush satin sheen. - See more at: http://www.therhinestonehousewife.com/products/product-detail.php?iid=320#sthash.1jciRYke.dpuf
Oldest Profession in the Universe: described as a nude beige/pink with just the right amount of sparkle
Meteor Madame: based on the Pantone Honeysuckle color with a high gold sheen and sparkle

My thoughts:
I feel like the descriptions from the website are spot on. I adore Oldest Profession as it's a wonderful highlight color for my skin tone and will become my go-to highlight shade. Cosmic Cathouse is a wonderful gold and very smooth and pigmented. Pangalactic Painted Lady was a little intimating at first, but once applied, it  blends down to a pretty light blue. It will be fun to come up with a fun look to pair this one with! Each eyeshadow color was smooth, blend-able and a dream to apply. Meteor Madame has been on my lips for 2 days straight. I'm in love with this lip gloss. It has just the right amount of shine and color to make it wearable ALL THE DAYS! It's gorgeous!

I love the navigation of TRH's website. It's a simple layout and easy to read! The descriptions are awesome and from what I can tell spot on! It's a fun, pretty site with exciting products to discover!

The eyeshadow and lip gloss can be purchased separately at $7.00 for the eyeshadow (each) and $6.00 for the lip gloss or you can save $5.00 by purchasing the entire set at $22.00! It's a fun set with fun names and gorgeous colors so I just say buy the entire set! ;)

Have you purchased anything from The Rhinestone Housewife?

Maybelline Summer 2013 Color Tattoo Eyeshadow!

Happy Monday Zombies!

I don't know about you, but my weekend went by way too fast! I hate it when that happens. ;)

Today, I thought I'd show you a few of the new Maybelline Color Tattoo's for Summer 2013. These claim to all have a duochrome finish about them. I don't have them all, but I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the ones I do own. I'm hearing through the grapevine that these are hard to come by already. So far, I've seen them at my local Walgreens, ULTA, and CVS. I'm really surprised the displays are only offering a limited amount of each color though.

A quick look I did using Seashore Frosts over Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer.

My thoughts:

My two favorites of this group are Seashore Frosts and Blue Paradise. Seashore Frosts DOES have an amazing duochrome about it. And it does show up when you're wearing it. It's a lovely shade that lasts a really long time on the eyelids. Blue Paradise has a gorgeous pink/purple/blue shine to it in the jar, but it doesn't really translate to the eye, other than being a beautiful shiny soft blurple. Shady Shores is much more yellow than the jar picture poses it to be and it has an amazing green sheen to it! It's quite sheer, but would be great as a highlight color. Icy Mint is just that, an icy, shiny, light mint. I saved Lavish Lavender for last because sadly, it's my least favorite. While being a pretty shiny lavender color, it's sheer and didn't want to apply evenly to my eyelid. It also creased after an hours wear (I did not have that problem with Seashore Frosts). I love the sheen to it, but it does not stand out to me as anything special. :/

I feel like this collection is a kick up since the last batch of Color Tattoo's and I think the colors are light and fun for Summer. I'll have to play around more with them to determine if the other colors crease like Lavish Lavender. I'm pretty impressed all in all.

The Color Tattoo's range in price, but they are under $8.00 USD.

Have you been able to snag any of the new Color Tattoos?

Naturally Chic Neutral Eyes with Milani!

Happy ass Sunday Zombies!

A few days ago, I decided to test out the new Naturally Chic Shadow Eyez pencils from Milani and did a quick look with a few of the shades. I wanted to share my experience (and the look with you)!

For this look I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance as my primer and then Shadow Eyez in "Sand Dunes" on my main lid, "Cafe Au Lait" in the crease, "Golden Bronze" on the lower lash line and "Black Ink" in my waterline. I applied upper liner and mascara.

My thoughts: The Shadow Eyez are super easy to apply and so creamy! I was able to blend them easily with my makeup brush. They tend to glide on right from the pencil as well. Black Ink held up well in the waterline, but did not last the whole day- but this is normal for liner in my waterline. I think the main (and probably only) complaint I have about the Shadow Eyez is that after about an hour of wear, it felt as if my eyelids were sticking together- so I don't know that they ever fully *dried* on my lids. I can NOT stand that feel. They did not crease in the 8+ hours of wear, which is a huge bonus to me. I will be trying them without primer in the future or over a different primer to see if that makes a difference.

I really adore this look. It was very shiny in person and I received several compliments on it. :)

Have you been able to locate the new Shadow Eyez from Milani? What are your favorite shades?

Milani Naturally Chic Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencils! SWATCHES!

Good evening Zombies!

I have a great post for you, involving Milani and some kick ass new Shadow Eyez pencils. I can already tell you're drooling, so let's just move along shall we?

Milani has released 6 new Shadow Eyez, all in neutral shades, but with a kick! These pencils are amazing. Each and every single one was creamy, smooth, and super pigmented. I'm very impressed, even MORE impressed than I was with the first batch of Shadow Eyez. Milani seriously has my heart these days!

New colors:
Black Ink: matte finish
Espresso Lane: matte finish
Almond Cream: matte finish
Golden Bronze: metallic finish
Cafe Au Lait: matte finish
Sand Dunes: metallic finish

**Be sure to click images for a closer look!

The packaging.

Back of package with ingredients.

I am in LOVE with Golden Bronze and Sand Dunes. Black Ink will make an amazing black base to layer color over. I can not believe how awesome these new shades are. The biggest selling point for me is that they last a LONG time once applied. The dry down and do not budge, unlike some bases that stay at bit tacky. These bad boys dry completely.

These shades are limited edition (sad, I know) and will retail for $6.99 (may vary from location) at participating, CVS, Target, Walgreens, Walmart, Kmart, and from the Milani website itself.

Have you been able to snag some of these shades? What are your favorite colors?

!Etsy Spotlight! Little Lazies!

Good morning Zombies!

This morning I bring to you a post of the non-makeup variety but still just as fun.....and even sparkly! A few weeks ago, a friend of mine posted a link to a cute Etsy store called "Little Lazies" on Facebook. Right off the bat, I noticed a cute little zombie made out of clay that had to be MINE RIGHT THEN! I immediately (and somewhat spontaneously) placed an order for my very own Zombie Little Lazy. The rest, is history.

My kick ass little clay-creation arrived in less than 2 weeks after I adopted him. The most exciting part of the whole transaction was that when you purchase a little lazy, you get a random little guy/girl. No two are alike, being that they are all handmade! I was ridiculously excited when I opened my little guy and saw SPARKLES! on his brain and heart.

Meet Booboo ZomZom!

Per the Etsy store:

Purchase a Random ZOMBIE Lazy and you will receive a made to order, one of a kind MYSTERY creature that includes zombie braaaains and more.

Mystery item will be a miniature clay figurine (approx. 2" tall) that comes with an Adoption Card that lists it's name as well as it's "Likes and Dislikes".

BooBoo (and most of his companions) was $15.00 USD plus shipping!

Sparkly braaaaains! He's so cuddly for one that consumes squish!

I loved all the fun extra touches to the order. The shipping box that BooBoo arrived in had the same cute creature stamped on it as the invoice below. Sadly, I lost the pictures of it. :/ My Little Lazy was wrapped securely in bubble wrap and the box was stuffed with tissue paper. It was the perfect transport vessel.

I intend on purchasing a few more little zombies to start my very own Little Lazy Apocalypse! Leah, the owner of Little Lazies, also offers limited edition lazies such as owls and other amazing creatures from time to time. Watch her Facebook page HERE to keep to date on all the happenings!

Speaking of Leah, I was able to snag a short interview with her for everyone! Check it out.

Tell us a little about how Little Lazies came about.
Well, I have had a passion for art ever since I was very little, and even up until my time in college where I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, but (long story short) after graduating, I fell into another passion of mine - cake decorating, which indeed is the catalyst for Little Lazies! Let me explain! I remember it as if it were yesterday... it was on one lovely, Autumn day, and I was exhausted from a long days work of decorating cakes, but remembered it was my Sister’s birthday and I wanted to do something special for her. So as I was decorating her cake, I had a ball of green gum-paste in my hands (gum-paste is very similar to clay, but this you can eat!) and I thought to myself, “Hmm, I think I am going to make her a cute, little monster for the top of her cake!” I am not sure why that idea popped in my head, but needless to say, I am very glad it did... I sat there for what seemed like hours, making her this miniature monster, and little did I know that I was developing my very own style right then and there! I finished the cake and of course I had to show all my friends the cute creature I created, and to my surprise they all wanted one, but instead of a cake topper, they asked for something that would work as a collectable to keep! With tons of love and encouragement from family and friends, I decided to explore the world of polymer clay. I then created my Little Lazies and with that, a shop emerged and more... I still cannot thank my friends enough for their support; I don’t know what I would do without them (you know who you are!)

Tell is a little about how you make your Little Lazies.
Well it all starts will a ball of clay, then from there I have to be inspired (like most artists do!) Inspiration for me can come from a lot of things - film, music, nature - but I am most inspired by Japanese culture and animation. Japan is just full of creativity and the style and culture brings a smile to my face, so why not be inspired by something that makes you happy, right? I am also inspired by my favorite artists and their talent, drive, and passion - Jublin, Megan Lara, John Sumrow, Beastpop, Wotto - the list goes on. Seeing their success in art only makes me want to work harder. As for the actual process of making the Lazies, I knead the clay (a lot) and I never use clay straight from the package; I always mix and create new colors. Then little by little I assemble a monster, bake it, admire my new creation and then send it to it's new home!

Who is your favorite Little Lazy to create and why?
Of course I love all my Little Lazies equally, I have no favorite (isn’t that what a Mother is suppose to say? Haha.) But the one character that brings me the most joy to make has to be the Little Lazy Zombies - they are always fun to create! I love bringing together an iconic character like a Zombie, that is usually portrayed as something scary and gory, and combining it with elements that make it into something somewhat sweet and adorable! My Zombies have gooey brains, sunken in eyes and stitches... sometimes they have guts spilling out or protruding ribs, but somehow those obviously disturbing images are created into something you would want to cuddle! So to say it simply, I like the juxtaposition of the cute versus the creepy - I think they work well together and most everyone could enjoy them, don’t ya think?

Tell us a little about Leah the mastermind!
I’ll make this short and sweet for you!

Leah
Likes: Going to concerts, collecting t-shirts & vinyl, and watching the sunrise
Dislikes: Being a shy girl, reality TV, and bullies of all kinds

Thank you Leah for the interview and for my newest obsession! Best of luck to you and all of your Little Lazies! :D

Everyone should run, right now, check out Little Lazies and snag yourself a new little best friend. *tears of joy*
