I am out of town for the next week, so posts are gonna be a little different this week but still FUN! I was catching up on blogs last night and realized I need some new blogs to read. So here's your chance, leave me your blog link so I can check you out!
It's windy and cold here, with a slight chance of rain! The perfect day to do some swatchin'! I am STOKED about my most recent order with Fyrinnae. I finally got some of the colors I've been lusting over after seeing them around the blogs for so long. I also picked up 5 Arcane Magic's (Conjuror, Electric Stardust, Futuristic Glamrock, Pyromantic Erotica, and Velvet Vampire), which means I only need 10 more to have them all! (only....haha!) I received Robot Takeover as my free sample and Titania as my free sample when I picked up a full size of PE a few weeks back.
THIS is my box of Fyrinnae so far. Notice how empty it is?! We must do something about that. (yes, I have a problem.)
And here are my most recent goodies, which came wrapped in pretty black tissue paper with sparkles. Have I mentioned how MUCH I love Fyrinnae. *swoon*!
Oh look, even the husband wants in on the action! (That or he's just annoying.)
Conjuror (maroon, blue, green duochrome) and Futuristic Glamrock (baby blue with tons of pink sparkles!) are just amazing. (And yes, I spelled Conjuror wrong. I JUST looked at the label and noticed the spelling. DOH!) I actually love this haul. I also LOVE Banana Mochi and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bat. All of the colors are unique and gorgeous and of course, full of sparkles. I can't stop staring at my hand and taking in the gorgeous colors. Of course, I swatched the colors over Pixie Epoxy.
I implore you, if you've never tried Fyrinnae before, PLEASE, place a small order NOW. The mini jars are $2.00 and have just the right amount of product to try out. You really also much get some of the Arcane Magic colors. There is just nothing in this world like them.
I hope you all have a gorgeous day! And run and get yourself some Fyrinnae!
Finally another weekend is upon us and it's a gorgeous day! Get outside and do something FUN!
I squealed when I opened the following Beautiful Zombie entry from Vulcan_Butterfly in my email. THIS is exactly what I think of when I think "beautiful zombie." I am amazed and a little jealous! Well done Vulcan_Butterfly, well done!
Allow myself to introduce.......myself. I am the Glam Goth Zombie and I have just got back from eating the brains of someone who bleeds glitter! Yum! Of course, I took pictures of myself in my bathroom after the fact, as any beautiful zombie would. My makeup consists of a mix of products from MAC, Manic Panic, Maybelline, Evil Shades, Morgana Cryptoria, NARS, and a couple of pairs of false eyelashes! have been reading your blog for quite some time, and I must say that I enjoy it almost as much as I enjoy scarfing down glittery brains! I my spare time, I like to read various makeup blogs and also work on my own silly little makeup blog Vulcan_Butterly . I have enjoyed the previous beautiful zombies that submitted their looks, and I hope that I get to see many more! Have a lovely day zombies!
(if you'd like to submit a beautiful zombie look- please email me at email@example.com)
Yesterday I had people name colors that don't generally go together on the MZ Facebook page. I think I'll do that a lot more. It was fun!
I decided to take on Orange and Grey today...WOWZA'S people! They can work if you try!

Have you ever had that "de ja vous" moment when looking at someone who looks just like you, acts like you, loves the things you love, even scolds her brothers like you do? I had that yesterday when glancing at my daughter in the back seat of my soccer Mom mini-van. This little girl IS me. All the good and ALL the bad. And she's really the love of my life. YES, I love my boys of course, but my bond is special with Leia and I hope to develop it and keep us close for the rest of her life.
Today, I went bold lips, bold eyes. Screw it, I was bold. I'm in a funk and I needed to pull myself out. I love the lips! What did I ever do without Russian Red from MAC? I also really love the pigmentation of Brazen Cosmetic's eyeshadow!

I know, EPIC FAIL for not having many pictures. But at least it's something and it was fun creating this look.
JUST LOOK at what I found at Claire's last weekend for a dollar! STEAL! I'm really into Steampunk these days and these earring screamed at me from across the store.
A few nights ago I was wide awake, glued to my computer at 11:30 pm, I came across THIS post. It really got me to thinking what I can do to simplify my life.
I've decided to do a little "spring cleaning" in my life, blog, computer, relationships, etc. As I get older, I realize what's really important and what I just *think* is important. My family and my blog are very important to me, but sometimes, I neglect the family for the blog. And that's just not right. Thus the small hiatus I've been on from blogging.
So, the first thing I am going to do is do away with DISQUS comments. I've been SO worried about responding to each and every comment people leave, but I have to remember that blogging isn't ALL about the comments, it's about providing entertainment and information to people who read the blog and if they comment, that's even better. So, I'm going back to the good old blogger system. And I won't feel guilty if I don't get every single question answered. The transfer may cause comments to disappear for a while until I can figure out how to recover them.
I really wanted to establish "Mommy and Me-Nail Sundays" but my little girl is SO hard to get to sit still and usually ends up touching, demolishing, etc. her super sparkly mani minutes after it's been applied. We can't blame her, she's 3. So, I may wait till she's a little older and pick up our Nail Sunday's again. This doesn't mean I won't still do her nails though. hehe
Beautiful Zombie is still a go. I do have several looks still to be posted. (I'm not ignoring anyone! I swear!) And if you're still interested in creating a beautiful zombie themed look, mani, etc., please email me at makeupzombie @ yahoo dot com
I will be going through my makeup and doing a little spring cleaning as well and adding new items to my blog sale. I WILL NOT ever sell something that was sent to me for review purposes. Just wanted to throw that out there. :D
I want to be a better Mom..a better wife...a better friend. I want to do MORE, get out MORE, explore MORE! BE MORE! So, this means I'll be focusing a lot more on my photography. I'd love to see where I might take it. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out my second blog Walk a Mile backwards. And of course, devote equal parts of my time to this blog, my family, etc. Life is CAHRAZY!
And the best news?! At 500 followers I will be having an amazing giveaway, because you all are such an awesome group of people and make this blog so worth while and fun. And I promise to be here more and be more for you!
Last week I placed a small order with a new(ish) up and coming company called Brazen Cosmetics on Etsy. I saw Jill's review of them over at Just Peachy I HAD to try them out. Especially because they have a Mango scented lip sugar scrub called Mango Mango and I'd been looking for a good one. :D I order two full size jars from the Valentine's 2011 in collection "Vixen and Miss Independent" , the Mango Mango lip scrub, and a sample set of eyeshadow. I received Coy, Paradox, Jaded, Tease, and Tremor. Sandi threw in a few samples as well, which I'm sure is standard.
A few weeks back, I did a trade with Victoria from Persephone Minerals. I sampled up some of my loot, for samples of Persephone colors I'd been lusting over. We both agreed to jar up the samples for each other. :) It was so fun, and I adore the eyeshadow I received. Thanks again Victoria!
Unfortunately, some of the colors didn't want to photograph very accurately. Kyla's Purple is much more purple in real life with tons of sparkle and Sailor Venus has what looks to be aqua sparkles in it. So unique. These colors are so much prettier in real life and very soft and pigmented. Love them!
Speaking of a new love of mine. I recently purchased OPI's Russian Navy, after seeing a review of it on NAILSTAH'S blog. I immediately fell in love. I've been loving deep blue colors that glow from the inside out. This particular deep blue has pink shimmer. It is so unique and a new favorite in my collection.
It reminds me a little of China Glaze's "Little Drummer Boy" but the application is not as tricky and it's deeper and more complex.
My hubs and I got our tax return yesterday and went a little cahrazy! We always get things we've really really wanted through the year, and clothes for the kiddo's and then put the rest away in savings. I poured over what I wanted yesterday and finally ordered a shit ton of MAC. Of alllll the things in the world. HAHA I will soon show you all my little MAC collection. Oh I also discovered Tokidoki eyeshadow! You can not tell me that packaging is not freaking AWESOME! LOVE!
I was recently contacted by the owners of Purely Pleasures and asked if I'd review their product. I don't normally review bath and body products (unless it's from a company that I'm comfortable with), but I decided to go for it, because the company also offers a makeup line.
How is your week going so far? Mine's been really mellow. We're expecting more snow today!
I recently received the new(ish) Milani's One Coat Glitter nail polishes in Purple Gleam, Silver Dazzle, and Gold Glitz as well as the Silver Jewel FX to review. I didn't really know what to expect from these polishes, because I've never tried a Milani polish before. (I'd just heard around the block that they were usually hit or miss.) So, when I put these bad boys on, I was actually amazed.
I added a top coat to each nail and can barely feel the chunky glitter in the Jewel FX. The other nails feel a bit gritty, but nothing over the top for sure. I love love LOVE Purple Gleam. It's got hot pink glitter running throughout the deep purple base. SO pretty! These polishes did take 2 coats to get to maximum goodness, but even after one coat, the nail was pretty much opaque. (With the exception of the Jewel FX obviously.)
Each collection averages about $5.00 a bottle, depending on where they are purchased.
I really like these polishes. I can't wait to do a full mani with Purple Gleam. Have you tried the One Coat Glitter's yet?
Saturday, the best friend and I went to an old mining town loaded with old buildings and a really awesome cemetery. We had a great time. I did a simple look for the day. YES, I put on makeup to go to a ghost town. AND?!
I used mainly Derby Girl from Living Dead Grrrl and found that it's the purple version of Suffocation from Evil Shades. It has the most amazing blue shift within it's light purple base. I simply love it. :D

On Saturday, I also pierced my ears for the 3rd time. I got Cobalt Blue studs from Claire's and the girl did a really good job even!. It so didn't hurt. I think I'm addicted to piercings boyz and girlz!
I received this email from Milani and wanted to pass it along. Here's your chance for $2.00 off Lip Flash pencils from the Milani website. Just in time for Valentine's Day! Also, take a look at the killer new products for 2011!

My name is Wendi. I'm a 33 year old mother of 3 who is hopelessly addicted to makeup- mainly eyeshadow and lipstick and anything having to do with Zombies. (Weird combo..I know.) I am not ashamed of my obsessions as I feel there are far worse things to be addicted to.
